Baskets was a three part exhibition by Oxfordshire Basketmakers in partnership with the Oxfordshire Museums Service. All three exhibitions took place at the Oxfordshire Museum in Woodstock in 2006. The exhibition included the making of a big basket in the beautiful gardens of the Museum.
Oxfordshire Baskets - Then was an exhibition about Oxfordshire's basketry past, with baskets from the county's museum collections and from private collections, together with archive photographs.
Oxfordshire Baskets - Now was an exhibition of work by members of the Oxfordshire Basketmakers inspired by traditional basketry of the county.
Willow, Rush and Straw was a display showing examples of the use of these local basketry materials, together with some tools.
The group also developed an Oxfordshire basketry map which can be downloaded here.
