Travelling Lines was an exhibition of selected work by members of Oxfordshire Basketmakers. It took place at The North Wall Arts Centre in North Oxford during September and October 2013. The exhibition explored the ways in which lines of thought, materials, traditions, techniques and experience are woven through contemporary basketry. Members interpreted the title in different ways: some used a technique from another part of the world as their starting point, whilst others approached the title in a more conceptual way.
As part of the exhibition, the North Wall Arts Centre commissioned OB member, Clair Murphy to work with a group of Year 10 Art GCSE students from John Mason School, Abingdon to create a large site-specific piece. Earth, Fire, Water was on display in the upstairs foyer of the Arts Centre. Clair also ran some basketry workshops for two groups of GCSE Year 10 students from St Edward's School, North Oxford.
