The Oxford Book Launch of Weaving Nature Basketry from Plants to People
We are hugely excited to welcome longtime OB member Ruth Stungo alongside Mark Nesbit, for the Oxford book launch of their new publication Weaving Nature, Basketry from Plants to People, published by Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.
This book explores the history and craft of basket weaving through a connection to ethnobotany and the natural world and examines the journey of basketry from raw plant materials to finished products. Richly illustrated with over 500 colour plates and using some 300 baskets from Kew’s collections, it details a wide variety of basketry types and human stories.
Mark and Ruth will bring copies of the book which you will be able to purchase on the day at a whopping 50% discount for attendees and their friends, reduced from £60 to £30.
